Flatten one side of beef with meat mallet. |

Combine wasabi, oil and soy. Brush over flattened side of beef. |

Top with nori sheets trimmed to match. With the longest edge towards you, roll up beef to form a log. |

Cut 25mm thick slices from log and secure with toothpicks or small skewers keeping cut side up. |

Heat 20 ml oil in large frying pan over moderate heat. Cook beef for 3 - 4 minutes on each side until well browned. |

Recipe Notes:
Wasabi is Japanese horseradish. It is usually available in tubes. When measuring wasabi, keep in mind that it has quite a strong, hot flavor. |
