||Flatten one side of beef with meat mallet.
||Combine wasabi, oil and soy. Brush over flattened side of beef.
||Top with nori sheets trimmed to match. With the longest edge towards you, roll up beef to form a log.
||Cut 25mm thick slices from log and secure with toothpicks or small skewers keeping cut side up.
||Heat 20 ml oil in large frying pan over moderate heat. Cook beef for 3 - 4 minutes on each side until well browned.
Wasabi is Japanese horseradish. It is usually available in tubes. When measuring wasabi, keep in mind that it has quite a strong, hot flavor.
||Nori is Japanese toasted seaweed. Nori sheets are also used to prepare sushi.
